Senior speed dating brings second chance at love
CHARLOTTE, NC - For seniors out there who want to find love, the options may seem limited. However, one area senior living community was out to prove that love truly is ageless.
On Friday, February 26 from 1 – 3 p.m. the Waltonwood Providence hosted a senior speed dating event designed for ages 70 and up.
The event was open to the public. Organizers said 14 local men and women registered.
The event was a great time where like-minded single seniors got to know each other through a series of short, one-on-one chats.
Organizers said many seniors understand the value of finding companionship or love again later in life and long for the connection once again.
Waltonwood Providence residents 79-year-old Richard Solar and 82-year-old Lenore Labiner participated in the speed dating event.
Both are widowed and said it's harder to meet people as a senior because there aren’t as many opportunities.
