Saginaw PD investigating what caused man to attack homeowners, officers
Saginaw police are investigating why a 25-year-old man went berserk in a neighborhood and then injured two officers before one of the officers shot and killed him.
Residents said Michael Brown didn't live in their neighborhood, but late Saturday night he went on a rampage at four different homes.
He beat a woman, attacked an elderly couple and then tried to break into two homes. He was in a violent fight with two police officers before he was shot.
One officer suffered a hand injury the other has a concussion. Saginaw police said the injured officers are expected to recover.
Minutes before Brown was confronted by police a neighbor said she stopped brown from breaking into her house by telling him she had a gun.
“I can tell you I had him in my sights,” said Tori Mulvaney. “I chose not to shoot because I didn't think my gun was going to take him down with one -- he just looked completely disoriented.”
Police hope toxicology tests from the medical examiner give police a better idea of what caused Brown to act so erratically.
