Royse City ISD gives employees a back-to-school bonus

ROYSE CITY, Texas - Employees in one school district in Rockwall County got a surprise for the start of the new school year – a $1,000 check.

“You need to report to those areas because we’re giving you a thousand dollar check,” Royse City ISD Superintendent Kevin Worthy said. His announcement was met by applause and a standing ovation.

The superintendent said each employee would be getting the bonus to spend however they’d like.

There were more than a few tears of gratitude from the district’s 750 or so employees.
