Rowlett Police: Pregnant woman lied about shooting

ROWLETT, Texas - Rowlett police are no longer looking for suspects after a pregnant woman was shot Wednesday at an apartment complex.
The backstory:
Officers were called to the Harmony Luxury Apartments near Merritt Road and the President George Bush Turnpike around 5:40 p.m. on Wednesday. That’s where they found a pregnant woman who had been shot.
The woman allegedly told officers two men claiming to be maintenance workers knocked on her apartment door.
She said she let them inside, gave them access to her master bedroom, and then turned to secure her dog on the balcony.
The woman said when she returned, one of the men shot her in the shoulder.
She gave police detailed descriptions of the alleged suspects, who she claimed fled.
What's new:
Police said investigators determined the alleged shooting did not happen in the way the woman claimed.
Instead, they concluded there was no criminal offense or threat to the public. They are not seeking any suspects.
What we don't know:
Police haven’t explained how the woman was really shot.
They also did not release the conditions of the woman and her unborn baby but said both are stable at the hospital.
