A Rowlett woman charged with the drunken driving death of her 5-year-old daughter turned herself in Wednesday night.
On June 11, 24-year-old Cynthia Del Angel was driving in the 4600 block of Dexham Road when she left the roadway and slammed into a tree.
Moments before she collided with the tree, police say Del Angel sped away from a minor fender bender accident.
On Wednesday night, Del Angel turned herself in to the Rowlett City Jail. She now faces charges of intoxication manslaughter.
Thursday morning, Del Angel left the jail after posting a $50,000 bond.
She is still in a wheelchair recovering from injuries sustained in the crash.
Her daughter was pronounced dead at a local hospital on the day of the accident.
