Rowlett car burglar returns from hiatus, hits 6 vehicles in 1 weekend

The Rowlett Police Department needs help identifying the suspect responsible for at least six car burglaries this past weekend.

What we know:

Police said the burglaries have been happening in the northwest neighborhoods of Rowlett since late December.

They’d temporarily stopped. Then, over the weekend, at least six cases were reported on Trumpet Drive, Sumac Lane, Larkspur Lane, and Locust Street.

"The suspect appears extremely comfortable and familiar with the area, moving methodically and lingering in neighborhoods without rushing. He has consistently targeted areas north of Lakeview Parkway, suggesting he may live nearby," Rowlett PD said on social media.

Police described the suspect as a light-skinned black male who is between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 11 inches tall. He has an average build, bushy eyebrows, and frequently wears all black.

During the most recent burglaries, he was wearing black track pants with a reflective patch on the knee, a navy Nike hoodie, a black face mask, and black slip-on shoes.

He also wears gloves as he punches through side windows and rummages through center consoles and glove compartments.
