Roanoke PD looking for people who burglarized cars
Police in two cities are looking for three people, two women and a man, wanted for car burglaries and thefts.
Surveillance shows the group breaking into cars in a Roanoke neighborhood. In at least one case, a stolen BMW was found burned in Fort Worth. There were three vehicles stolen from homes in Roanoke. All three had keys that were left in the vehicles.
Roanoke police hope someone recognizes the people in the surveillance video. Police believe they are responsible for at least two of the car thefts.
Police say the suspects broke into several cars the night a pickup truck was stolen. One of the stolen cars, a BMW, was found near Lake Worth on fire on the morning of June 29. Fort Worth arson investigators are looking into that as well.
"Came out the next morning. Didn't hear anything. Didn't know anything about it,” he said. “It's very unsettling. For a little while there, I was on pretty high alert. I told some of the neighbors, and it startled them a little bit. Parked my truck in the garage for a while. Made sure that the doors were locked."
One of the suspects can be seen in the surveillance video smoking a cigarette as he goes from car to car. Another man whose friend's Ford F-150 was stolen from in front of his house said there were cigarette ashes all over the seat and flood when his friend’s truck was found. He says the truck was found up on some rocks but was not damaged.
Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
