'Pursuit of Wholesomeness Homeless Expo' held in Dallas

Homeless outreach programs in North Texas came together Saturday for the "Pursuit of Wholesomeness Homeless Expo."

The event was held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. It provided services for homeless people of all ages.

Free medical, vision, dental, and HIV testing were available, along with mental health screenings. There were also free haircuts available, free counseling, and guest speakers.

There was even a "kids world" set up with an obstacle course.

Organizers say they only began planning the event in December.

"I used to live in my car for a short period of time, and when you live in your car, you're wondering, where's the help gonna come from? And so you don't forget that," said Letitia Owens, CEO of Where Are You Outreach. "So when you're in a better position to help others, that's what you want to do."
