Prime Prep superintendent resigns

The superintendent of the troubled Prime Prep Academy has resigned.

Ron Price submitted his letter of resignation to the school's board Sunday night.

The former Dallas Independent School District trustee was hired by Prime Prep last January.

He sighted financial challenges and the previous administration's shortcomings as part of the reasons behind his departure.

The charter school is facing possible closure by the Texas Education Agency.

Price said he will remain superintendent until the end of the month.
