The death of a Carrollton man who was a father and grandfather has confused his family and neighbors.

Police believe they know who murdered 49-year-old Randy Dugger on Tuesday. They believe it was his next-door neighbor, who is still on the loose and believed to be armed and dangerous.

Dugger leaves behind a wife, four kids and six grandchildren. Thursday would’ve been his fiftieth birthday. Neighbors say the victim and suspect have lived next door to each other for years.

Speaking through the Carrollton Police Department, Dugger’s family says he was the kind of guy who would give the shirt off his back and the last dollar in his wallet. They’re baffled as to why Dugger's neighbor, 28-year-old Danny Aragon-Marquez, would allegedly want to kill him.

Elvedin Selimovic lives a few doors down from the Crockett Drive crime scene. He knows Aragon-Marquez and is disturbed by the serious allegations against him.

“He's a good person as far as I know,” he said. “Did he make any trouble in the neighborhood? Never seen. Never heard.”

According to Carrollton PD, a carbon monoxide alarm went off at Dugger's home Tuesday morning. It prompted the fire department to respond. Firefighters found Dugger's body and what appeared to be a crime scene and called police.

“It was a very strong odor of gasoline,” said Jolene DeVito with the Carrollton Police Department. “And without breathing protection, we could not get into the house for quite some time.”

Investigators believe Aragon-Marquez is driving a red 2012 Honda Accord with the license plate number 4NVKK. The car has damage on the right side.

“He should be considered armed and dangerous,” DeVito said. “Don’t try and do anything yourself. Let us know if you know where he is, but he's obviously capable of murder.”

Investigators have not released a motive. Aragon-Marquez’s hair was last known to be shoulder length.
