Police looking for 18-year-old accused of shooting and killing 15-year-old girlfriend

Authorities in the Fort Worth area are looking for the boyfriend of a 15-year-old girl. They say he shot her to death Saturday afternoon.

18-year-old Sebastian Ramirez-Barcenas has been named a person of interest. He ran off after the shooting and investigators want to know if he intentionally pulled the trigger, or if it was an accident.

The 15-year-old victim has been identified as Makayla Davis. Her 18-year-old brother and other family members were all there when the shooting happened inside their trailer.

Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn says the 911 call came in around 4 p.m. He says Ramirez-Barcena might have been mishandling a shotgun in the home when it went off, shooting Davis in the torso.

"Until we find him, we don't know exactly what his side of the story is, but the weapon went off and it was a fatal shot," said Sheriff Waybourn
Police have been searching for him in the rural, wooded area in South Tarrant County.

Deputies and police from Fort Worth, Mansfiend and Everman searched the area in daylight, even using a drone.
Sheriff Waybourn says he does not believe Ramierz-Barcena is armed.
