Police investigating drive-by shooting in South Dallas

DALLAS - A drive-by shooting at a car wash left four people injured in South Dallas late Monday night.

The shooting happened near a car wash in the 4600 block of Elsie Faye Heggins Street around 10 p.m. Witnesses said someone opened fire with a rifle and three men at the car wash were wounded.

A woman in her 60s who was caught in the path of the gunfire was also shot in the leg. She drove to a fast food restaurant about a mile away to call for help.

The female victim had an 8-year-old boy in the car with her at the time. He was not injured.

All four people were taken to the hospital and are expected to recover.

Police have not yet released any details about the shooter.
