WATAUAGA, Texas - An area of Watauga is back open to the public after police responded to an incident Saturday afternoon, in which two people were later found dead in a home.
The incident happened at a home in the 6500 block of Loma Vista. Police got a call just before 1 p.m. from a "distressed male" who indicated that he may have hurt himself or someone else.
Several nearby police agencies were called to assist, along with North Richland Hills SWAT.
According to police, they tried to make contact with that man, but were not able to reach him after the initial call.
After several hours of trying to contact him, the SWAT team went into the home just after 6 p.m.
A man and woman were found dead inside the home. Police say this is currently being investigated "as a suicide."
A neighbor said the two people who live in the home are husband and wife, but police have not released any names at this time.
Those who live nearby were being told to shelter in place, but authorities say all streets are now back open and it is safe for everyone to return home.
