Plastic bags are free again in Dallas

The days of 5 cent shopping bags are over in Dallas.

The fee did not last long after an uproar by shoppers and retailers.

It was championed by outgoing Dallas City Councilman Dwaine Caraway last year.

He blamed the free flimsy bags for littering the city.

The council voted last week to end the fee.
