An Amber Alert for a 10-year-old girl in North Texas was canceled early Monday morning after being active for only a few hours.

Police in the Denton County town of Pilot Point said Halley Boerner was taken by her non-custodial father, William Boerner on Friday.

The girl’s guardian called police on Sunday evening to notify them that she had been taken and he was refusing to return her.

That’s when the Amber Alert was issued.

A few hours later, an officer in Little Elm spotted the vehicle the suspect was driving on Highway 380 and pulled him over.

Boerner was arrested and the girl was found safe.

Police said he will be charged with kidnapping.
