Dallas police are looking for two people involved in two different crimes at the same location. One of them robbed a Walmart employee and the other hit an off-duty police officer with a car.

Sgt. Warren Mitchell with the Dallas Police Department said both crimes happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the store on Wheatland Road.

A female employee told an off-duty officer who was working at the store that someone had robbed her in the parking lot.

That Charlton Methodist Hospital officer went out into the parking lot to investigate and was approached by another woman who said she was being followed by someone driving a white car.

“The white vehicle was in the parking lot driving erratically. The officer then approached the vehicle and the suspects in that vehicle intentionally drove toward the officer and struck the officer. The officer fired his duty weapon at the white vehicle that fled away,” Sgt. Mitchell said.

The officer was taken to Charlton Methodist Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. He has since been released.

Police are still looking for the driver of the white car and gathering evidence. They hope to review surveillance video to get descriptions of the suspects and confirm the sequence of events.
