New Rangers ballpark to be named Globe Life Field
ARLINGTON, Texas - The Texas Rangers on Thursday announced the name of the new stadium in Arlington – Globe Life Field.
The $1.1 billion park is being built near to the existing Globe Life Park. It will have a retractable roof and will be air conditioned, which fans will enjoy during the sweltering Texas summers. The seats at the current ballpark can be hard to fill in July and August.
The new park should open in time for the 2020 baseball season. The Rangers’ partnership with Globe Life extends through 2048.
"Globe Life has been an outstanding partner over the last four years, and the Rangers are excited that this relationship will continue long into the future," said Ray Davis, Texas Rangers Co-Chairman and Managing Partner. "We thank Globe Life for its commitment as the naming rights partner for the beautiful new Globe Life Field and for being a leader in its community efforts with our youth."
The Globe Life Texas Rangers Baseball and Softball grant program has given nearly $420,000 to youth organizations over the past five years.
