HIGHLAND PARK, Texas - Family, friends and co-workers gave a final goodbye Thursday to the University Park fire captain who was murdered.
Funeral services for Capt. Bob Poynter were held at the Highland Park Presbyterian Church. A fire truck then led a procession from the church to a nearby park for a last alarm ceremony.
The ceremony included bells, a last call, the song ‘Amazing Grace’ and a benediction.
Poynter was found dead last Friday in Rockwall County. Police believe he was lured there by his estranged wife and shot by her new boyfriend.
Both have been charged with murder.
