Mesquite police seek help identifying road rage suspect

The Mesquite Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person suspected in a road rage incident that occurred on U.S. Highway 80 on June 2.

According to police, several motorcyclists were traveling west on the highway when a white Chevy Silverado began to tailgate them. An argument ensued on the shoulder of the highway, and the driver of the pick-up truck exited the vehicle. Following the argument, the driver of the truck went back to the vehicle. Before driving off, the suspect swerved towards the group of motorcyclists, hitting one.

The motorcyclist was thrown nearly 10 feet, and sustained minor injuries.

Police describe the suspect as a white male in his twenties with a slender build. He was wearing a blue Texas Rangers shirt and jean shorts at the time of the incident. His car was a 2014-2016, four-door Silverado. It may have sustained damage to the left side of the rear bumper.
