Mesquite PD seeks suspects who robbed elderly woman

Mesquite police are looking for two men who terrorized a 71-year-old woman in her home and robbed her.

Two suspects are still on the run.

The incident happened a full week ago on Dec. 15, but people in that neighborhood they’re only just now hearing about it.

Police say it all started at the victim’s house about 11:30 a.m. on Dec. 15.

The men entered her home and used duct tape to restrain her.

They then drove her to the ATM where they tried to get cash, but when they couldn’t, they forced her to go inside alone, saying they'd watch and follow her.

When she got inside, she asked the teller for help.

Neighbors say they saw police at the woman’s home the day after the incident and inquired about what was going on.

“I did ask the cop what was going on, and he didn't want to say,” said one neighbor. “He said, ‘We are just trying to figure out what's going on.’ And yeah, I live right here next door, so I kind wish someone would have told me what's going on.”

A surveillance photo was taken of one of the men whom police say unsuccessfully tried to withdraw money from an ATM.

Police say that suspect is described as a Hispanic male between 20 and 25 years old, about 5-foot-10 and 170 pounds with a thin mustache and a diamond stud in his left ear.

Neighbors say the man doesn't look familiar to them, and they haven't seen the victim since the incident.

FOX 4 attempted to reach the victim, but no luck.

Police say there is no suspect vehicle description.
