Memorial portraits unveiled for Dallas PD officers killed in 2016 police ambush

The Dallas Police Department has revealed memorial portraits of the four officers killed in the 2016 police ambush in downtown Dallas.

Friends and family of Senior Corporal Lorne Ahrens, Officer Michael Krol, Sgt. Michael Smith, and Officer Patrick Zamarripa were at the ceremony.

A gunman killed the four DPD officers, along with DART Officer Brent Thompson on July 7, 2016.

Hours later, police used a robot with a bomb to kill the gunman.

The portraits will be displayed at the Dallas Police Academy in the "Hallway of Heroes," which honors fallen officers.
