Mansfield "Back-to-School Bash" helps prepare students for school

The Mansfield Independent School District held its yearly "Back-to-School Bash" Saturday. 

The event, at the MISD Center for the Performing Arts, was intended to bring the community together ahead of the 2018-2019 school year. Attendees lines up at the doors, which opened earlier than the 8 a.m. anticipated start time. 

Ahead of the event, Mansfield ISD predicted it would give out 5,000 backpacks to students at the event. 

The free event also included activities, games, school supplies and student health services.
