Man steals $70K Corvette from Charlotte dealership, leads police on chase

A man is in custody after police say he stole a 2017 Corvette Stingray from a Charlotte car dealership and led officers on a chase Monday afternoon.

Police say they were called to Parks Chevrolet, located on N. Tryon Street, to a report of a stolen vehicle. The caller stated that the suspect just took a vehicle, a 2017 Corvette Stingray.

Officers were able to locate the Corvette near the 1500 block of Berryhill Road. The suspect led police on a foot chase and was later apprehended. 28-year-old Domanique Mobley has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, felony larceny, and resisting public officer.

The car, which is valued at $70,000, has been recovered.
