A man who was injured in a hit-and-run over the weekend is begging for the driver to turn themselves in for the crash that killed a woman.

Olasoji Brown is now home recovering after a hit-and-run driver dislocated his leg and left him with bruises all over the left side of his body.

Brown was among a small group of people walking along a narrow dirt path to an event center on Forest Lane for a wedding reception late Saturday night. That's when the driver of what's been described as a dark colored pickup jumped the curb and crashed into them.

“It's too late,” Brown said. “My eyes are blind because I don't have my glasses no more. I'm full of pain on this side. My leg is turned around. I can't even move the leg. "

The impact claimed a woman's life- 55-year-old Charity Orji.

"It's just painful knowing someone could do something like this and not stop and keep going,” said Jeanne Martin, Orji’s sister-in-law.

Orji’s grieving family contacted FOX 4 because they were concerned that police weren't giving the case enough attention. She was a mother of six who moved to North Texas with her husband from Nigeria to find a better life for their family.

Brown and Orji did not know each other. Both of their families are impacted and want the driver responsible caught.

"If anybody saw it, anything, or witnessed it, please just come forward and say something,” begged Abi Brown, Olasoji’s wife.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Dallas Police Department.
