Police looking for suspect in fatal Johnson County hit-and-run

A family is grieving the loss of their father who was killed in a hit-and-run on a county road south of Fort Worth.

Fatal hit-and-run in Crowley

What we know:

On March 31 around 8:15, the Johnson County Sheriff's Office responded to calls about a man lying in the middle of County Road 920 in Crowley.

Officers pronounced the man deceased on the scene, and said he was involved in a hit-and-run. Police believe the victim was hit by an SUV.

Frank Bravo

The victim was later identified as 63-year-old Frank Bravo. Investigators say Bravo was walking home from a local Texaco Mart when he was struck and killed.

Bravo's family said he was killed on impact and was rendered airborne by the vehicle.

What we don't know:

Police do not currently have a suspect. The Texas Department of Public Safety said their investigation remains ongoing.

"I hope they come forward"

What they're saying:

Crystal Bravo and Mary Campos are Frank Bravo's daughters, and they and their families remembered Frank as a warm man who loved the outdoors.

"Dad was always so protective and loving. Took us out boating, camping," Crystal told FOX 4's Dionne Anglin. "He always wanted us to be independent, self-sufficient women."

The two said the Texaco Mart where Frank was walking home from was his favorite store.

"He was walking, and he was actually almost home when he was struck," Campos said. "He lived in the country, so the only store he would go to was the Texaco. Everybody knew him."

Frank's brother Lonnie hopes whoever caused the hit-and-run comes forward.

"The one out there, he knows who he is or she. They know who they are. I hope they come forward and do the right thing," Lonnie told Anglin.

Mary Campos and Crystal Bravo

Crystal and Mary offered forgiveness to the person responsible.

"I forgive you and, honestly, I’d be willing to walk on a sole healing journey with you because I know you need closure just as much as we do," Campos told Anglin.

"Whatever reason they did do this, we are forgiving. We are a family that loves God and Jesus, and we love people."
