Hometown Heroes: Rose Landin

Rose Landin is 97 years young. The native Texan first went to the State Fair of Texas when she was 7 years old, and it's in her blood.

She's back at the fair for her 20th year in the Perry Avenue information booth.

Landin loves the fair and loves telling people all about it. About 600,000 visitors’ guides are printed each year, and she gives out her fair share six days a week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Landin loves helping people and seeing the same faces year after year.

Even fairgoers who don't need help drop by to say hi.

By the way, Landin doesn't eat fried food, so while she takes her lunch to the fair every day, she will eat one Fletcher's Corny Dog to keep her State Fair of Texas tradition going.
