Hometown Heroes: Pet Bed Project

Currently, 24 cats and 31 dogs are waiting for forever homes at the Frisco Humane Society, and the people who foster them get a helping hand from senior citizens in Frisco.

The foster parents buy the toys and food for the animals they take in temporarily. One thing they don't have to pay for is the bed.

Since June, residents of Mustang Creek Estates of Frisco, in the memory care unit, have made 40 pet beds.

They're washable, have bright colors and are perfect for pooches and fabulous for felines.

The residents love making the beds and they bring back happy memories of their family pets. It also gives the residents a strong sense of accomplishment in helping the foster parents and the pets.
