Hit-and-run driver kills Dallas woman's dog

A Dallas woman hopes surveillance footage will help track down the man who killed her dog during their walk in Oak Lawn.

The hit-and-run happened Saturday near Cedar Springs Road and Throckmorton Street. Cameras at Zephrs restaurant captured the whole thing.

Holly Mosley said the driver of the SUV most have known he ran over her foot and killed her 5-year-old terrier named Batmite, but he didn’t stop.

She’s only sore with bruises all over her body, but said her heart is hurting.

“It’s hard. He was my everything. I know nothing’s going to bring him back, but I think something needs to be done,” she said.

“Be a man. Own up to it. Don’t be a coward. You know you did the wrong thing,” added her friend, Heather Huynh.

The owner of Zephrs restaurant also saw what happened. He tried to take a picture of the SUV’s license plate, but the driver was going too fast.

Police said the driver could be charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident.
