"Hard Hats for Little Heads" program at Medical City Arlington

Some North Texas children who love rolling around on wheels got some help with safety matters.

Medical City Arlington held a free helmet giveaway on Saturday at Cravens Park in Arlington.

The hospital outfitted hundreds of children with helmets as part of the, "Hard Hats for Little Heads" program.

The initiative was launched by the Texas Medical Association in 1994.

The effort urges kids to wear helmets at all times while biking, skateboarding, riding a scooter or inline skating to reduce the risk of head injuries.
