Girl gets her own surprise after giving hospital $19,500

DALLAS - A girl from Rockwall got a big surprise when she presented a donation to the Texas Scottish Rite Hospital.

Addie Bryan appeared on Good Day last month to share her story. She was trying to raise $8,000 for a donation in honor of her eighth birthday.

Addie was born with Larsen’s Syndrome, a rare disorder that affects development of the bones. The donation was her way of saying thank you to the hospital for helping her walk and even run again.

On Tuesday she presented a check to the hospital for $19,500. Then the hospital surprised her with another $50,000 from a couple who saw the story.

Addie’s birthday is on Sunday.
