Freezing temperatures create icy patches on the roads

Sunday morning drivers were surprised by some icy patches on at least two major highways.

TX Dot crews were called out to I-20 at U.S. 67 in the Red Bird area of Dallas to treat an area with ice.  Several vehicles called alerted authorities after they found themselves sliding on the ramps to eastbound I-20 and westbound I-20 at Spur 408.  TX Dot treated the small patches of ice a short time later.
