Fort Worth ISD teachers getting a pay raise

FORT WORTH, Texas - Fort Worth public school teachers and other workers will get a pay raise.
The new $700 million Fort Worth Independent School District budget includes a 2 percent increase for all employees. The budget also raises the starting salary for teachers to $53,000 a year.
About $12 million is earmarked for school safety, including improvements to campus security.
Three trustees voted against the budget because it is a deficit budget and may require future cuts.
