Former zoo employee found dead in home with dozens of snakes
A Fort Worth man in his sixties was found dead Sunday, inside a house with dozens of snakes.
Police believe the man died of natural causes and that nothing is suspicious. However, there will still be an investigation, police said.
His friend in Colorado got worried when he couldn't reach him, so he traveled to Fort Worth to check on him and found him dead, police said.
Police found more than 70 snakes in the man's home. All of them were non-venomous and properly contained, police said.
The man was retired but once worked at a zoo's reptile department. It is going to take at least another day before animal control can get all the snakes out of the house. Then, police can begin their investigation.
