Ford has recalled more than 83,000 cars involving two separate actions connected to problems that may boost the risk of a crash.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration released two recall notices on March 3 detailing what occurred with the impacted cars.

NHTSA officials noted that that first recall said that 35,772 vehicles may experience a faulty "Dynamic Bending Light" software system, which controls the manner in which the headlights turn when driving around curves. According to the recall notice, the headlights can turn incorrectly, resulting in a glare and limiting visibility for drivers.

Separately, in a second NHTSA recall notice, approximately 47,804 vehicles were recalled for a defective "exhaust gas recirculation valve," meaning that the cars may lose drive power if the valve stops working.
