Elderly woman found murdered in Far North Dallas

An elderly woman was found murdered in her Far North Dallas home on Wednesday.

Police say they found 71-year-old Norma Kakacek just before 11 a.m. at her home in the 7300 block of Paldao Drive.

Police found signs of “homicidal violence” but did not find any visible signs of forced entry.

Kakacek’s 2005 gray Lexus RX330 SUV appears to be missing. The vehicle had Texas license plate CPR9301.

Detectives are still canvassing the area and continue to interview witnesses.

No information on a suspect has been released.

One neighbor says Kakacek's employee called family member when she didn't show up to work.

Neighbor Jennifer Jaeb says Kakacek's husband died from West Nile in 20015. She walked the neighborhood several times a day, with one neighbor seeing her out and about on Sunday.

"She walked her dog every day every day early because when I take her to school, we'd see her," she said.
