Early voting begins for May 22 primary runoff
Early voting starts today for the May 22 primary runoff elections.
The biggest race is the battle for the Democratic gubernatorial nomination between Lupe Valdez and Andrew White. The winner faces Republican Gov. Greg Abbott in the fall.
There’s also a runoff for the Democratic nomination for Congress in District 32 between Colin Allred and Lilian Salerno. The winner there faces Republican Pete Sessions.
In District 5, Republicans Lance Gooden and Bunni Pounds are facing off to try to replace Republican Jeb Hensarling. The winner faces Democrat Dan Wood.
Early voting ends Friday. Election day is a week from Tuesday.
