DWI suspect flees after crashing into Dallas Co. deputies' vehicles on I-35
DALLAS - Dallas PD officers and Dallas County deputies were able to arrest a suspected drunk driver who hit two Dallas Co. Sheriff's Department vehicles before leaving the scene.
The deputies were blocking traffic after an 18-wheeler became stalled along I-35 in Oak Cliff, just before 12:30 a.m.
Authorities say 39-year-old James Craig Supplee hit the squad cars with his pickup, and then left the scene.
The abandoned pickup was found two miles away, on Beckley Ave. and 12th St.
A Dallas PD helicopter was used to find Supplee, and officers were able to take him into custody.
One deputy was taken to the hospital with minor head injuries after the crash, but has since been discharged.
