Driver dies after shooting in far north Dallas

DALLAS - A man was found dead in his car outside a far north Dallas apartment complex early Thursday morning.

Neighbors at the Royal Court Apartments near Preston and Alpha roads said they heard gunfire around 2:30 a.m. A man had also crashed his car into a parked SUV in the parking lot.

Police determined the driver had been shot to death. He has not yet been identified.

Witnesses said they saw a man running away. Police are still looking for that suspect.

The case is being investigated as a murder.
