Dallas police still deciding whether to charge Johnny Manziel in fight with ex-girlfriend
Dallas police say they have not spoken with Cleaveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel about his confrontation with an ex-girlfriend three weeks ago. They have also not decided what, if any, charges will be filed.
According to Manziel's ex, the quarterback struck her several times during a drive from Dallas to Fort Worth. A Tarrant County judge recently granted her a protective order against Manziel, good for two years.
In spite of sworn affidavits and medical records, Dallas police say they are waiting for detectives to complete their investigation before presenting evidence to prosecutors.
Criminal defense attorney Toby Shook says it's a strange move by the department, because police usually make an arrest when a domestic disturbance victim says they were injured.
