Dallas police: 2 arrested in online trafficking of girl, 16
DALLAS (AP) — Two men face trafficking charges after Dallas police say a 16-year-old girl they met online was raped and sent to Alabama.
Dallas County jail records show 43-year-old Cuauhtemoc Munoz was booked Monday on charges of sexual assault of a child and trafficking of persons. Bond is $200,000.
Jason Daniel Strickland was arrested Saturday in Loveland, Colorado and charged with trafficking of persons. Bond is $100,000.
Police say Munoz pretended to be a 17-year-old boy wanting to help the girl run away from home. Munoz allegedly took her to a hotel, sexually assaulted her then put her on a bus to an undisclosed Alabama city to meet 32-year-old Strickland.
Police helped locate the girl and return her to relatives.
A Munoz attorney didn't immediately comment. No attorney was listed for Strickland.
