Dallas officer hurt in overnight chase

DALLAS - A Dallas police officer was hurt overnight, but fortunately not seriously.
The officer was responding to a report of a stabbing at a restaurant on Robert B Cullum Boulevard just before 2 a.m.
He spotted the suspect’s white SUV and walked up to it. A woman inside took off, running over the officer’s foot.
A chase ensued across south Dallas. It ended when the woman drove onto railroad tracks at Cockrell Avenue and Alma Street. She then ran off.
Officers searched for her with a helicopter and K-9 units, but she got away.
Police determined the vehicle she was in was stolen. No stabbing suspect was ever found at the original location, though.
The injured officer was taken to a local hospital. His injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
