Dallas Jesuit student killed in car crash
DALLAS - A driver is expected to be charged after troopers say he caused a crash on the Dallas North Tollway Wednesday night that killed a Dallas Jesuit College Prep student.
The car that 15-year-old Guy DeLaney and his father were in caught fire. Both were rushed to Parkland Hospital but Guy did not survive.
Police said the driver of the Mercedes will be arrested and charged, but the investigation is still ongoing.
Guy was a sophomore and a member of Jesuit’s soccer team. One of his club soccer coaches said Guy was an incredible athlete with great promise.
"Fun to be around, he was very infectious personality, just really dedicated to what he was doing. We all knew that his dream was to actually go and play at SMU and he was extremely focused, one of the more focused boys on the team. You always used to see him doing his own work, by himself sometimes often training by himself,” said Roger DaCosta.
Jesuit brought in grief counselors and held several masses in memory of Guy. Jesuit's first game without Guy was set to be played Friday night against Lake Highlands.
