Dallas Jack in the Box worker shot trying to stop drive-thru gunman

A worker at a Dallas Jack in the Box was shot early Wednesday morning as he tried to stop an armed man from getting inside the restaurant.

It happened just before 3 a.m. at the restaurant near Interstate 35 and Camp Wisdom Road in southeast Dallas.

Police said the armed man tried to get in through the drive-thru window and ended up in a struggle with the worker.

The suspect shot the worker and then took off on foot. The worker was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police are still looking for the gunman, who they believe intended to rob the restaurant. They did not release his description.

The employee’s name has not been released.
