Dallas County DA Susan Hawk returns to work

Dallas County District Attorney Susan Hawk is back at work for the first time in months.

Hawk disappeared from office in July following reports of strange behavior and outbursts aimed at her staff.

The Republican who took office in January later announced she was seeking treatment at an in-patient facility for severe depression.

Hawk spoke briefly to reporters Thursday morning and said she is excited to be back at work.

"These past nine weeks have been tough, but I am stronger and healthier that I have ever been," she said.

She said she is grateful for the opportunity to serve and promised to answer reporter questions during sit-down interviews next week.
