To help families prepare for the upcoming school year, the New Light Church in Dallas hosted its back to school rally Saturday.

Members handed out backpacks, notebooks, and other supplies.

The Dallas Health Department also brought its mobile truck to offer immunizations to students.

To top it all off, In and Out Burger catered the rally.

The goal was to take away some of the stress of back to school shopping.

"Some people that have, assume everyone else has it. It's very important for us to serve our community and lighten the burden and the load," said Devin Turner, Deacon of New Light Church.

The rally also helped families who simply can't make it to other supply drives and immunization events.

By the end of the day, the church gave away more than 500 backpacks with supplies.
