Police say an elderly man who may have been dealing with depression killed his wife and then killed himself. She may have been suffering from dementia.
The couple's daughter found their bodies Tuesday morning inside their home in the 5100 block Shackleford Street in Fort Worth.
She told police she went to the house because she couldn't reach them by phone. She found them both in a bedroom with gunshot wounds.
"Yesterday evening the daughter had attempted to contact her parents at about 5 p.m. and they didn't answer. She had no answer at the house. However, at about 9:30 p.m. last night the parents tried to contact the daughter and she missed the phone call as well," said Sgt. Steve Enright with the Fort Worth Police Department.
During the day on Monday paramedics went to the house to help the elderly woman get back into bed. She had fallen and her husband wasn't able to lift her on his own.
He was 73 and she was 76.
