Corned Beef and Cabbage
5 pounds of cabbage (2 heads), chopped
1 tablespoon Garlic
1 yellow onion chopped
3 slices Applewood bacon chopped
1 12oz. can Guinness Beer
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon chicken base
Place stock pot over medium/high stovetop heat, place butter in the pot, once melted add onion, garlic and bacon -- sauté for 3-5 minutes. Combine cabbage, Guinness Beer and chicken base and cook for 30-45, stirring frequently.
Corned Beef
Corned Beef -- 5-6 pounds
2 tablespoons of. garlic
3/4 coarse black pepper.
Rinse corned beef under cool water. Place meat, fat side up, in roasting pan. Add water to depth of about 2 inches. Rub meat with garlic and pepper and then cover tightly with the lid. Place in oven and bake for 6 to 8 hours at 250 degrees until beef is tender and pierces through easily using the fork.
