Christian radio station KLTY shutting down after 40 years
DALLAS - A North Texas Christian radio station is closing after 40 years on the air.
KLTY Goodbye
What we know:
The company that owned 94.9 KLTY recently sold the music station to K-Love.
"Yes, some of your KLTY family is going to say, ‘See you later.’" But the wonderful thing is that on 94.9, we’re still going to have Christian music from K-Love," said morning show co-host Bonnie Curry.
KLTY’s last day on air will be on Jan. 31.

What they're saying:
Curry has been with KLTY for 30 of its 40 years.
"So many things have happened over those years. I’ve watched my daughters grow up with this radio station. They’re a part of this as much as anyone else. We’ve watched families grow up and we’re a part of their lives. And so, we just want to say we’re so grateful for every single moment that we’ve had with every single person. We have loved sharing life with you, and this is a privilege. This is an honor," she said.
But she is confident that fans will enjoy the new format.
"A lot of people all over America already trust them. They know that they’re going to inspire them and lift them up. So, although we are sad about this change, we know that Dallas-Fort Worth is still going to be receiving all that wonderful Christian music that we have delivered for so many years. There’s a lot of heart to that. There’s a lot of peace to that," Curry said.
What's next:
Fans of KLTY can say goodbye to their favorite radio hosts before they leave.
"We couldn’t say goodbye without literally saying goodbye in person," said Jeremiah Richardson, KLTY’s morning show co-host.
The event will be on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Compass Church, located at 2600 Hall-Johnson Road in Colleyville.
Radio station memorabilia, including gold records and even a signed guitar, will be given away.
"So, show up in person and see if you can grab a signed guitar from Christian artists you love," Richardson said.
The first 1,000 people will also receive a limited-edition t-shirt.
Fans can also look forward to a celebration and special surprises on KLTY’s final day as well.
