Child shot in the hand in the midst of a drug deal

A 2-year-old child was shot during an argument over a drug deal.

It happened just after 10:00 Saturday night as the child was sitting in the back seat of a car at 4500 S. Lancaster Road, according to Dallas police officer, Monica Cordova.

The driver went to the location to meet someone to purchase drugs.

Two adults sitting in the front seats of the car became involved in an argument and the male in the passenger seat pulled out a gun. The two people began to fight over the gun and it went off, hitting the child.

The child was shot in the hand and was taken to Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. The person who fired the shot was arrested, Cordova said.
