Firefighters in the Dallas suburb of Carrollton went above and beyond to help a man who suffered a medical emergency.

According to Carrollton Fire Rescue, the man was pouring concrete at his home when he had the medical problem. He was rushed to the hospital.

But the firefighters knew what would happen if the project was not completed – all that slurry would dry and the project would be ruined.

They called in off-duty firefighters with experience working with concrete. Then the on and off-duty firefighters completed the project while the man was in the hospital.

They even purchased extra tools and supplies using the department's benevolence fund to get the job done.

“This is another example of our crews caring about our Citizens - Job Well Done!” the department said on its Facebook page.
